Cookie Policy
Let's be real about cookies
Cookies are tiny files your browser stores when you visit our site. Honestly, they're not evil—they just help us remember you exist so you don't have to log in every five seconds. Some help us understand what's actually working on the site, and some track whether our ads are worth the money we spend on them.
The Important Ones (Session & Auth)
These are the non-negotiable ones. They keep you logged in and secure. Without them, you'd have to enter your Singpass credentials on every page. The site literally won't work without these.
We also use CSRF tokens in cookies—that's just a security thing to make sure hackers can't trick you into doing something you don't want to do. It's boring but necessary.
Analytics (The Learning Ones)
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use Bonding Bowls. This tells us which pages get actual traffic, where people get confused and bounce, and how fast things load. It's anonymized data—we're not tracking you specifically, just seeing patterns.
If you hate this, you can disable analytics cookies. Honestly, the site works fine without them. We just won't get as much feedback about what needs fixing.
Marketing (The Ad Ones)
If you clicked an ad on Facebook or Google to get here, they track that. It's so they can tell if their ads actually work or if they're just wasting money. We don't sell your data—we pay them, not the other way around.
You can block these cookies too. It won't break the site, but we won't know if our marketing is working, which is annoying for us but doesn't hurt you at all.
Third Parties (Who Else Has Cookies Here?)
Google puts cookies on your device when you use our site (for Analytics and Ads). If you came from Facebook, they do too. Firebase uses cookies for crash reports. These companies have their own privacy policies—we can't control what they do with your data, but we've chosen partners we trust.
What You Can Actually Do About This
Every browser lets you disable cookies. Go to Settings → Privacy and you can turn them off per website or completely. Here's what happens:
If you turn off all cookies, you can't log in. The site won't work. Don't do that.
If you turn off tracking/marketing cookies, nothing breaks. We just don't see analytics or ad data. That's fine.
If you have "Do Not Track" enabled in your browser, we respect it. We won't track you beyond what's necessary to make the site work.
The Boring Legal Stuff
We comply with Singapore's PDPA. Our cookies are there to provide a service (keeping you logged in, measuring traffic) or with your consent (analytics). We don't use them for anything sketchy.
If we change how we use cookies, we'll update this page and notify you. Using the site after that means you accept the changes.
Questions about cookies? Email us at privacy@bondingbowls.com. We'll actually read it and respond within a month.
